How We Built Orelune: An AI Tarot Experience Powered by OpenClaw

Learn how Orelune built an AI-powered tarot experience using OpenClaw. Discover how AI agents, memory, and real-time context are reshaping spiritual guidance products.

Orelune.ai is an AI-powered tarot experience built by a two-person team using OpenClaw. It goes beyond static readings by remembering users, adapting over time, and delivering personalized, contextual guidance—showcasing how AI agents enable small teams to build complex products.

How We Built Orelune: An AI Tarot Experience Powered by OpenClaw

Not long ago, building an AI-powered spiritual guidance platform would have required a full product team: backend engineers, frontend developers, AI specialists, and product designers.

Today, two people built Orelune.ai.

With the help of OpenClaw, our team was able to design, develop, and launch a fully functional AI tarot experience — something that traditionally might have required a team of more than ten people.

Orelune is our attempt to explore a new type of product: an AI oracle that combines spiritual tools like tarot with modern conversational AI. It doesn't just draw cards and return static interpretations. It listens, remembers, and evolves with the user.

In the process of building Orelune, we discovered something even more interesting: AI agents may fundamentally change how small teams build products.

The Idea Behind Orelune

Tarot has existed for centuries as a tool for reflection, intuition, and guidance. Traditionally, a tarot reading involves a human reader interpreting cards in the context of a person's life situation.

But modern users interact with guidance differently. They ask questions at midnight. They want instant responses. They revisit the same question weeks later with new emotional context.

We wondered: What if a tarot reader could exist as a persistent AI agent?

Instead of offering static interpretations, the system could understand the user's question, maintain memory across sessions, and generate contextual guidance that evolves over time.

This idea eventually became Orelune, an AI-powered tarot experience designed for modern spiritual seekers.

With Orelune, users can:

  • Draw tarot cards instantly

  • Ask questions about love, career, or life direction

  • Receive personalized interpretations

  • Get reflective advice and suggested actions

Instead of simply pulling a card, users engage in a conversation with an AI oracle.

Why We Built It With OpenClaw

When we began exploring this idea, we quickly realized that traditional product architectures were not well suited for building agent-like experiences.

Tarot reading isn't just a single API call or a static prompt. It requires personality, memory, interaction channels, and evolving context.

That's where OpenClaw became central to the project.

OpenClaw allowed us to treat the tarot reader as a full AI agent, rather than just a chatbot. The framework helped us solve several core problems that are essential to building a believable AI oracle.

Four Key Capabilities We Built with OpenClaw

1. A Living Interaction Layer

Most AI tools are passive — they wait for users to open a website and type a prompt.

Using OpenClaw, we integrated messaging channels such as Telegram, allowing the AI tarot reader to interact with users in a more natural way. Conversations can happen anytime, and the agent can maintain ongoing interactions rather than isolated sessions.

This gives the AI something closer to a "heartbeat", making the experience feel less like using a tool and more like speaking with a personal guide.

2. A "Soul" for Every Tarot Reader

Tarot interpretation depends heavily on the reader's personality and philosophy.

To capture this, we introduced a file called soul.md, which defines the tone, interpretive style, and symbolic framework of the AI reader. By encoding these elements, we can inject a consistent identity into the agent.

In other words, soul.md acts as the soul of the AI oracle, allowing different readers or styles to be created while maintaining coherence in the experience.

3. Long-Term Memory

Traditional tarot sessions are often isolated moments. A reader might not remember what was discussed weeks earlier.

With OpenClaw's memory capabilities, Orelune can remember a user's past questions, emotional themes, and previous readings. Over time, the AI builds a deeper understanding of each user's journey.

This allows guidance to become more contextual and personal, rather than disconnected one-off interpretations.

4. Real-Time Context

Tarot readings often resonate more when they reflect the present moment.

Through OpenClaw's skill system, Orelune can integrate real-time search and contextual knowledge. This allows interpretations to incorporate current events, cultural signals, or relevant information from the outside world.

The result is guidance that feels more grounded in reality, rather than purely symbolic.

From Prototype to Product

With these capabilities in place, Orelune evolved from an experiment into a real product.

Today, users can draw tarot cards, ask life questions, and receive contextual interpretations within seconds. The experience feels closer to speaking with an AI oracle than interacting with a traditional application.

For us, Orelune represents something bigger than a tarot tool. It demonstrates how AI agent frameworks like OpenClaw allow small teams to build complex products that previously required much larger organizations.

And this is only the beginning.
